Welcome to Bakkerswinkel Utrecht, where you can indulge in breakfast, lunch, or our renowned high tea in a historic building at the corner of Plompetorengracht and Wittevrouwenstraat. Since the 18th century, this location has been a hub for artisanal baking. The old vaults, once used by various baker families, now serve as a restaurant. During the season, we also serve delightful cheese fondue in the evenings.

If you prefer takeout, visit our street-side bakery offering the finest bread from vanMenno, coffee, sandwiches, homemade cakes, scones, jam, and other sweets. All our products are available for takeaway, either individually or in convenient packages.

Lunchroom & Kaasfondue Restaurant

During the day, savor homemade artisanal products in our vaults, accompanied by friendly service. Reservations can be made via the chat option on our website. Apart from breakfast and lunch, we are known for our Bakkerswinkel High Tea, featuring scones with homemade jam & clotted cream, sandwiches, quiche, homemade pastries, juice, and Betjeman & Barton tea. In collaboration with rose&vanilla, we offer gluten-free, lactose-free, and/or vegan high tea options. In the winter season, we are open on Friday and Saturday evenings for various cheese fondue experiences.

Planning to visit with a larger group? We offer different breakfast/lunch/high tea packages for groups of 6 or more. Choose from our Bakkersontbijt, Bakkerswinkel high tea, or three lunch options: the best of the baker, Warm & Savory, and Bread Table. All packages are diverse, accompanied by a hot drink and juice. A 50% deposit is required for groups of 6 or more.

Continuing the tradition since 1730, Bakkerswinkel Utrecht sells fresh artisanal products at the counter. Visit the store for organic sourdough bread from vanMenno, scones, brownies, croissants, sweet and savory pies, homemade jam or curd, and more.
